Clay and Gemstone - Seashell Totem - Necklace
Talisman and Energy Tool
The seashell is a beautiful totem. Seashells connect us to the ocean, and to water energy.
Water is the element that represents our emotions. They help to open up and activate your
intuition, sensitivity and imagination. This allows us to be able express our imagination, and
our creativity. When we are able to express and share our emotions and ideas, we begin to
heal ourselves and have a greater impact on others and the healing of the planetary family.
Many cultures revere the significance of seashells. The Calusa Indian tribe used seashells
as a form of currency and trade and seashells represent wealth in the Polynesian culture.
The conch shell, in particular, was -- and still is -- revered as an important tool in
trumpeting significant events in their culture.
I made this pendant with polymer clay, crystals, and gemstones:
Crystal Quartz: Is a magic stone for power, healing, and meditation. Quartz is also a great
amplifier to other stones, creating and directing stronger energy from the gemstones it is around.
Iolite = Ancients believed that this stone could unlock creativity in an artist. Use this
stone to discover the lost parts of self and your inner treasures. It is a stone of vision
and creative expression.
Amethyst: Is known as a dream stone. The amethyst has long been used to open
the spiritual and psychic centers, making it one of the power stones. It is also used as
a meditation aid when worn as a necklace. The amethyst symbolizes piety, humility,
sincerity and spiritual wisdom.
Garnet: This stone is said to be a stone of purity and truth as well as a symbol of
love and compassion. It will helps with depression, self-esteem, one's own security
level and spiritual awareness. This stone is also said to bring constancy to
friendships and to be helpful for stimulating success in business.
Tigers-Eye - Insight, Luck, Protection, Spiritual, Meditation. Opens Sacral Chakra, it is a stone
associated with clarity and focus.
Amber = In ancient times, Amber was carried by travellers for protection. To early
Christians, Amber signified the presence of the Lord. It is said to bring a care free,
sunny disposition, promote good luck and success, and dissolve opposition.
The design is done with an earthy, coppery-terra-cotta color clay. I painted it with some metallic
powders and created some beautiful patterns in the clay. After baking I gave it a glossy finish to
seal in the powders and paints.
This piece is a nice size, a definite totem statement! :)

It measures approx. 2.82 inches, (or 71.7mm) tall and approx. 1.52 inches wide, (or 38.7mm).

A beautiful braided cord made from Sari silk and hand-spun yarn is included with the totem.
