Polymer Clay - Mandala Lotus - Talisman Necklace
A beautiful Lotus design with a gorgeous hand made glass cabochon with sparkly dichroic glass
cabochon in the center in shades of blues/greens/and yellows.
Throughout many cultures over time, the Lotus has been a powerful image and a spiritual
symbol. In Hindu, Buddhist and Egyptian religions, the lotus is considered a sacred flower.
Among it's many meanings and significance, the lotus is a symbol of
"spontaneous" generation, and so it also represents divine birth, spiritual
development and creation itself.
I made this pendant with polymer clay and used metallic leaf on the design to create an
ancient relic kind of feel to this piece. I hand painted the Lotus in colors of the rainbow. The front
side was sealed with a clear glaze to seal in the paint. The back side was left natural with pieces of
the metallic leaf.
The pendant has an approximate diameter of 2 and 5/8 inches or 67mm.
It hangs from a beautiful braided cord of exotic Sari silk ribbons and lush hand spun yarn.
The cord measures about 13.5 inches on each side.
I love hiding meanings into the design during the creation process with symbols and colors.
I chose the colors of ribbons to correspond with LOVE and BALANCE. I used colors of the Heart,
Root, and Throat Chakras:
The Throat Chakra is connected to the Ability to verbalize and Expressing truth through power of
the spoken word.
The Heart Chakra is connected to releasing emotionally suppressed trauma. Soul/Heart
consciousness and Expressing love in action.
The Root Chakra is connected to Grounding spirit forces in body and Gaining ability to work
lovingly on the physical plane.
I cleansed this piece with a Sage smudge ceremony. I filled it with Earth energy in a
beautiful ceremony and set these intentions with it through prayer.
I also placed the "Ohm" resonance into the piece with an Ohm tuning fork.
"Ohm" is the vibrational sound of the universe.
My wish is that this piece will be drawn to the person that needs it in their life at
this time to send healing and love out into our world.
