|"Moon Garden" - Tipi - Handmade Ceramic Incense Burner
(with incense plate and 10 incense cones)
I am so in love with making these Tipi's because they are not only a functional
incense burner, but they are a super cute and beautiful piece of art for your sacred
space, altar, and home too! I am an avid incense burner and have my own little
Tipi here at home which I use almost every single day!
The word "Tipi" originates from the Lakota language and the word “Thípi,” which is
often translated to mean “they dwell.”
The Tipi was more than just a dwelling to the people who built them. They
represented many things: a home, protection from the elements, community, and a
The structure itself was held very sacred. The floor of a Tipi would be in the shape of
a circle, which symbolized how everything in the world is connected. The floor space
itself represented the earth, while the soaring walls represented the sky. In some
cases, a small altar may have been built near the center of the Tipi for prayer
purposes such as burning incense.
A box of White Sage incense cones (10 cones) is included with the Tipi so you can
start using it right away when it arrives. Considered a sacred herb by Native
American people, White Sage is used for purification and protection purposes. Many
people follow the ancient Native American tradition of smudging, which is believed to
clear away negative energies.
To use the Tipi incense burner: Simply light the incense cone and then blow out.
Place the smoldering cone on to the incense plate, cover with the Tipi and the incense
smoke will come out of the hole in the top of the Tipi.
